On the tenth day of the General Chapter the sisters participated to the general audience of Pope Francis and then they celebrate the birthday of Sr. Edith.

The Holy Mass at 5.30am was celebrated by four priests, Fr. Roman Wadah CFMConv, Fr. Zdzislaw Kijas CFMConv,  Fr. Ryszard Wrobel CFMConv, and Mons. Tymon Chmielecki. During breakfast the sisiters wished happy birthday to Sr. Edith and went to the audience. Pope Francis in his Cateches he reflected on the Gospel of St. Mathew (Mt 25: 36-46). Which he defined as ''the testament of Jesus'' because Jesus assures us that whatever we have done for little ones, we have done for Himself, since He is present in those who are in need. The Holy Father encouraged us to learn a fresh the work of mercy and practice it at least one every day in our ordinary daily life, doing so we will be testimony of mercy.

Pope Francis met with our Mother General Samuela and Sr. Edith and blessed them on behalf the chapter members, the entire Congregation, each sister and especially those who are suffering from different sickness.

At six all sisters came back at home in the General House whereby,  they had supper with heart full of fraternal love and joy.

The next day, were re -nominated Sr. M. Anna Barełkowska as the General Secretary and Sr. M. Anna Hałabis as economic.

Mother General thanked S. M.  Chrystiana Stachel for her service given to the Congregation for the last six years.

This is the profound faith of the life of the Missionary Sisters of St. Elisabeth.

On the fifth day, the General counselor were elected. The first Vicar General was Sr. M. Rafaela Fischbach, the second General Counselor was Sr. M. Paula Zaborowska, the third General Counselor was Sr. M. Weronica Tomczyk and the last General Counselor was Sr. M. Patricia Sobinek.

Then after the election of the General Counselors, the reverend Mother Samuela, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the sisters who completed their commission to Sr. Edith Bremer and as the Vicar General and S. M. Brigit Hausler. She also took the opportunity to welcome the newly elected Counselors.

Sister chapter members reelected Reverend Sr. M.  Samuela Werbińska as the Mother General for the third cadence and she was approved by the Holy See.

S. M. Lucia Bigus expressed the vote of welcome to the newly reelected Mother General Reverend Mother Samuela, on behalf of the all chapter members. Altogether they sang Te Deum as a sign of thanksgiving to God. Thereafter, followed the recreation of all the community to celebrate the election of Mother General.

On this day was the day of retreat for all sisters in preparation of the Mother General election on the following day.

THE INITIAL OF THE XXV CHAPTER OF THE CONGREGATION OF THE SISTERS OF ST. ELISABETH

This is the profound faith of the life of the Missionary Sisters of St. Elisabeth.

The XXV General Chapter of the Sisters of St. Elisabeth started on 3rd October, 2016 at the Province house in Rome, where by 55 sisters participated from 19 countries. The opening of the General Chapter started with Holy Mass which was celebrated by His Imminence Cardinal Stanisław  Ryłko. In his homily emphased on the specialty of the occasion which is for receiving abundant grace, moment of reflection and time for rediscovery  of what is necessary for the religious life and of the Charisma of the Congregation.

Logo XXV GENERAL CHAPTER consists of simple symbols and destriptions. Devided into four parts, the bread is the first letter of the hand-written inscription CREDO.

Bread is broken into four parts creates CROSS, which is a symbol of the Christian faith. Four pieces of bread symbolize the four directions, which expresses the universal need for the provision of charity and faith sharing, which grows when it is lived as an experience of love received and when it is communicated as an experience of grace and joy. (Porta Fidei 7, Benedict XVI)

COLOR RED, is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, the love of God and neighbor, and shed the blood of martyrs for the faith. Pope Francis stresses that "the blood of martyrs is the seed of new Christians."
